The "lifestyle" comprises many alternative forms of sexual interests, from hotwifing and swapping partners, to cuckolding, to transgender, to bisexual, etc. One very appealing trait of the LS is friendly, open'minded, welcoming people. However, some lifestylers remain judgemental. Any comments on being judgemental in an alternative lifestyle?

Try being a transwoman in the lifestyle. You'll see just how nasty and judgmental many people in this lifestyle can be.

Thank you for your comment TheLadyZ. People need to be tolerant of all lifestyle choices......it's not open season on people with different preferences. You don't have to join in, but at least show tolerance and compassion.

Just as in normal everyday life there are clicks in the lifestyle as well. It’s kinda sad actually!

Personally we don't judge anybody's sexual preference in the lifestyle, if it does not interest you simply don't partake but we can accept people for who they are, which is far more than what they choose to do in a bedroom. As for ourselves we are open and don't have a problem with playing alone or together, we still have our own personal boundaries that each of us respect and do our best to take care of one another in and out of the lifestyle. Enjoying good company and good sex with others is simply that, we do not let jealousy come into play, this may not be easy or acceptable for everyone but it works for us, so our moto is enjoy this lifestyle and let those around you do the same.

It's terribly sad but unfortunately it happens. I believe that the LS consists of so many different people and things that turn their crank. However there are people who believe that the Ls is only full swap couples and anyone who isn't doesn't really belong or aren't really swingers. Well I believe that that is why it is now mostly called the lifestyle because it has opened up to other people and what they enjoy. We aren't a full swap couple but we do play with women together and alone. We also play in the fetish world. So where would we belong if the narrow minded snobs had their way? Let them be in their judgemental bubbles, it's more fun without them!

Well...I guess the fact that some use the term "vanilla" , which has the connotation of "boring" or "bland" would be one of those judgemental words too. And yes there are times when we play together or not. Others have tried to peg us (pun intended) to their understanding of labels and lifestyle choice. We prefer too remain...fluid? We have many interests and have even discovered latent desires and newly discovered desires as we've evolved. Norms are found even within alternative groupings and sub cultures are always present. It is why MY biggest turn on is attitude. When we encounter something new we first decide our comfort level and respond respectfully. Just cause we aren't into it now doesn't mean we never will be...and we just may need some education and guidance in exploration. In short, Judgement speaks to education, boundaries, respect and tolerance. Golden rule right? And maybe take their judgement with a grain of salt...we don't know each others histories or experiences.

Do people "judge" what they fear or don't understand? Or even, perhaps, what they might envy in others?

The same guys that tell me I'm not welcome at events they run will email me the next day and tell me they want to fuck a tgirl and I should meet them "discreetly". In the five or six years I've been active in this lifestyle this has happened at least 30 times. So what does that say about the lifestyle?

Judgements should be left at the door. No one should be afraid to tell what their personal preferences are because they are afraid of being judged.

I am an equal opportunist and not judgemental, as long as there is some sort of attraction to one another I am game! On the other hand, my husband and our circle of swing buddies are somewhat homophobic. They say they are not... but I call a spade a spade. If they hear a guy is bisexual; they are not invited, but bisexual girls are . :( I think as the younger generation hits the swing scene it will be a lot more open-mindedness. At least I hope so!!

I figured that I have my little wants and desires that not all people are going to understand. Those that are into it can pass me by. It goes back to the old saw… If you find me offensive, you are cordially invited to stop fucking finding me. I'll grant everyone else the same consideration.
